Maynooth Furniture
A project created for the Adobe xD udemy course by Daniel Scott. The project goal was to design an e-commerce website for people to browse & purchase furniture for home delivery.
The Persona
Our persona was Katherine, a 50-year old executive from Dublin, Ireland. Her kids left for university, so she was looking to update the furniture in her 4-bedroom home.
She loves finding inspiration online, particularly Pinterest.
Wireframes
For the layout of the page, I looked at other furniture store sites like IKEA, Habitat.co and Made to see how their content was organized and what the best practices were.
The goal of the research was to study different ways of organizing the site in order to make it easy for Katherine to find what she needs.
Moodboard
Inspirational moodboard was created to nail down the look and feel for the site. The furniture Maynooth sells would be european and modern in nature, so the site needed to reflect the same feel.
Maynooth’s logo consists of yellow, teal and purple which are really nice vibrant/modern colors.
Webpage Design
Deliverables for the project consisted of a homepage, category page and product page. These pages were designed with Katherine in mind, keeping the layout clean and organized to make shopping easy and without hassle. The category pages include a filter function to help the customer find what they’re looking for.
Mobile App Design
After the webpage was done, we were tasked to create a mobile version. The pages included were a login page, homepage, category page and a product page example.
